Overview

The CTR Analyst I will review customer cash transactions to determine whether to file required regulatory reports concerning Currency Transactions Report (CTR) and Monetary Logs.

Responsibilities

Currency Transaction Report Duties:
  • Each day review all transactions on the Daily Teller Activity Report and compare to FIS generated CTRs
  • Determine if all required data was captured
  • Determine accuracy of data on the CTR
  • Follow up with tellers and obtain missing, invalid, or incorrect data and correct data
  • Analyze the Daily Teller Activity Report for transactions not identified as requiring a CTR by the teller platform.
  • For those identified that require a CTR:
    • Follow up with tellers to obtain required information
    • Create the CTR
    • Ensure all CTRs are accurate and ready to file by the bi-weekly filing deadline this may require goals for the number completed daily
    • Note: All CTRs must be filed within 15 days of the transaction and may not contain errors. Regulatory penalties for filing an inaccurate CTR are up to $1,500 per report and penalties for late filing are up to $10,000 per report.

Monetary Logs:
  • Each day, review all transactions on the Monetary Log Report and compare to FIS generated log entries
  • Determine if all required data was captured
  • Determine accuracy of data on the Monetary Log
  • Follow up with tellers and obtain missing, invalid, or incorrect data
  • Analyze the Monetary Log Report for transactions not identified by the teller platform
  • For those identified that require a Monetary Log:
    • Follow up with tellers to obtain required information
    • Create the Log entry

Other:
  • Provide training and feedback to tellers on the proper completion of CTR and Monetary Log information
  • Monitor system for any needed enhancements or changes
  • Gather and provide CTR information to examiners and auditors
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to write reports for presentation to management and various committees
  • Ability to interpret laws and write policy guidelines
  • Ability to interact with other employees, examiners, directors, and management
  • Advanced knowledge of microcomputers with the ability to use Excel and Word
  • Exceptional knowledge of Global Vision Systems, Metavante BIC, Monarch systems and all FIS applications (including EFunds)
  • Exercise mature judgment with a high degree of integrity and professionalism
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality about all information
  • Ability to travel on a limited basis including overnight travel. This may include the use of the employee’s personal vehicle
