The Position
Custodial Workers perform general cleaning services to State facilities using various cleaning equipment and materials to provide a safe, hygienic and orderly work environment.
The Custodial Worker 2 position at the Nevada National Guard Reno location is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and general upkeep of buildings and surrounding grounds. Working under the direction of a Custodial Supervisor, this role follows established procedures and safety guidelines to ensure facilities remain orderly and fully operational. Key responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, locker rooms, and common areas; vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors; dusting surfaces; emptying trash and recycling; and restocking restroom and cleaning supplies. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of custodial or janitorial experience in a commercial, industrial, hospital, governmental or similar environment; OR six months of general work experience and one year of custodial or janitorial experience in a commercial, industrial, hospital, governmental or similar environment; OR six months of experience as a Custodial Worker I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Incumbents may be required to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays in addition to their normal work schedules.
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
This position requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.

This position requires a valid Real ID at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
