Custodial Worker/Floor Care

Performs custodial maintenance duties, including dusting, mopping, finishing, and buffing floors, vacuuming and shampooing carpets, and cleaning and restocking restrooms.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Performs daily custodial duties, including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning

restrooms, and restocking paper and soap supplies.

2. Performs routine maintenance to custodial equipment and supplies.

3. Empties trash receptacles, disposes trash into compactors and dumpsters, and bags

trash for proper disposal.

4. Unlocks doors, ensuring doors are locked after cleaning areas.

5. Reports needs and concerns to appropriate staff, including submitting or recommending

work orders and checking supply levels; for positions within site, responsible for reporting problems related to the site.

6. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes

continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.

7. Performs cleaning functions specific to the assigned facilities based on seasonal/project

requirements.

8. May provide vendors with access to areas for cleaning and may answer basic questions.

9. May report issues with vendors to supervisor.

10. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

• Ability to understand verbal instructions.

• Ability to operate vacuums and other related equipment.
• Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.
• Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
• Ability to understand written and verbal communications.
