DESCRIPTION

Under supervision of the Facility Maintenance Superintendent, clean Anna Municipal Complex and perform event setups and breakdown. Provide the best customer service possible, demonstrating concern for each request for service or assistance. Perform other related work as required.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

• Operate vacuum cleaner and buffer.
• Operate carpet and furniture shampoo machine.
• Change vacuum belts and pads on both buffer and floor maintainer.
• Ability to always work well with the public and with co-workers. Communicate effectively and courteously with the public and other City employees in person, by radio, in writing and by telephone.
• Ability to follow a chain of command, receptive to instruction and supervision. Adapt to changing procedures and special assignments.
• Ability to schedule work and perform cleaning for the Anna City Hall.
• This position is subject to callouts during emergencies and must respond when contacted.
• Review maintenance requests; diagnose and correct building maintenance problems using knowledge of a variety of building trades skills; troubleshoot, identify, and resolve malfunctions and defects.
• Monitor work sites to verify that the work zone and all equipment are in safe operating condition; verify maintenance and repair issues are properly identified, addressed, and resolved.
• Use good judgment to work safely and use equipment properly.
• Perform minor servicing and / or preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS

High school or GED, plus 6 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have a valid Class C Driver's License by date of hire.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Somewhat disagreeable working conditions. Continuously exposed to one or two elements such as noise, intermittent standing, walking, pushing, carrying, or lifting. May involve some travel and/or work is at times, in the evening or during the night hours.
