Lakeview Village is a continuing care retirement community. We have an opening for a Custodian to work Full Time.

Lakeview's Custodian performs a variety of custodial, general maintenance, and grounds keeping duties in and around the buildings of the Ridgeview Village community, ensuring that indoor and outdoor spaces are maintained in a clean, safe, and orderly manner. Performs general duties that include, but are not limited to: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, waxing, dusting, and carpet shampooing. Assists with general groundwork and maintenance tasks as needed.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Completes all work orders in an efficient, timely manner.
Ensures that common areas are maintained in a safe, cleanly manner by performing tasks including, but not limited to: vacuuming, mopping, buffing, or waxing floors, cleaning windows, dusting common area fixtures, appropriately cleaning/restocking restrooms, and disposing of trash.
Transports cleaning disinfectants, vacuums, carpet cleaners, fans, small equipment, and other tools.
Prepares vacated apartments for new admissions in a timely manner, ensuring that they are cleaned and painted properly.
Assists with more involved custodial maintenance including, but not limited to: changing air filters, routinely cleaning laundry dryers.
Maintains the storage room in a clean, organized manner, ensuring that there is a proper repair and housekeeping supply inventory at all times.
Maintains equipment in a clean, safe, and orderly manner. Reports any malfunctions to the supervisor immediately.
Follows all indoor cleaning schedules according to established procedure.
Picks up and disposes of trash in common indoor and outdoor areas, empties trash receptacles as needed. Ensures that recycling is emptied into appropriate containers.
Observes and reports any interior or exterior safety concerns immediately.
Assists Groundskeeping with duties including, but not limited to: the use of landscaping tools to maintain the appearance of the landscaping and vegetation in the Ridgeview Community, seeding, fertilizing, and watering outside vegetation, leaf removal, tree trimming, chemical applications, and snow removal.
Assists Maintenance with duties including, but not limited to: painting, plumbing repairs, appliance maintenance/repairs, and general repairs on fixtures such as doors, windows, sheetrock, and concrete.
Develops and maintains a good working rapport with inter-department personnel and other departments within the facility, to ensure that departmental programs can be properly maintained to meet the needs of the facility and residents.
High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
Demonstrates a full understanding and effective application of common maintenance related equipment
Possesses an empathetic approach to the elderly.
Able to work in a team setting with residents, relatives, staff, and others.
