Custom Clearance Specialist

On behalf of ICT company Huawei Technologies, we are looking for Custom Clearance Specialist.

The SCM - Custom Clearance Specialist is responsible for managing and coordinating all customs clearance activities to ensure the smooth and timely import and export of goods. This role involves working closely with customs authorities, freight forwarders, and internal supply chain teams to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and to minimize delays and costs associated with customs procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review all necessary documentation for customs clearance, including invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and import/export licenses.
• Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government agencies to facilitate the clearance of shipments.
• Ensure compliance with local and international customs regulations and trade laws.
• Monitor and track shipments to ensure timely clearance and delivery.
• Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to customs clearance, including duties, taxes, and inspections.
• Maintain accurate records of customs documentation and clearance activities.
• Collaborate with procurement, logistics, and warehouse teams to optimize supply chain efficiency.
• Stay updated on changes in customs regulations and advise the company accordingly.
• Assist in audits and compliance reviews related to customs and trade regulations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, Logistics, or related field preferred.
• Proven experience in customs clearance and international trade compliance.
• Strong knowledge of customs regulations, import/export procedures, and documentation requirements.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in using customs clearance software and MS Office applications.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

• Certification in customs brokerage or related professional qualifications.
• Experience with ERP systems and supply chain management tools.
• Multilingual abilities are a plus.
