Job Purpose

To provide the bank with a better understanding of its customer base, using simple analytical techniques and the appropriate summary measures that enable identification of opportunities and spotting of threats.



Description

Roles and Responsibilities
1. Determine patterns and analyse customer behaviour to address business problems and generate actionable insights
2. Assess the performance of different marketing activities (e.g. campaigns, product launch...etc) and their impact on the customers
3. Gather, validate, and explore data in order to find hidden insights and patterns
4. Analyse information from multiple data sources and business stakeholders to identify actionable insights
5. Identify opportunities to drive customer value, through different customer behaviour analysis techniques
6. Review customer data for trends, patterns, and causal analysis to assist in understanding customer behaviour
7. Execute advanced analytics techniques to translate large and complex datasets into concise easy-to-use insights
8. Collaborate with Business and Data Engineering teams to solve business problems and identify opportunities for building ready for use data products
9. Assist in the communication of results, insights and data-driven recommendations to stakeholders and executive leadership
Policies, Processes and Procedures
10. Follow all relevant department policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that operations are carried out in a controlled and consistent manner
Day-to-day Operations
11. Follow the day-to-day operations related to own job in the department to ensure business continuity


Compliance
12. Comply with all relevant CBE regulations, banking laws, AML regulations and internal CIB policies and code of conduct in order to maintain CIB’s sound legal position and mitigate any potential risks


Qualifications


Qualifications & Experience
 Bachelor’s Degree with strong academic performance in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Statistics/Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering…etc.)
 Master's Degree in a quantitative or business field is a plus
 Analyst: Experience of at least 2 - 4 years
 Experience in advanced analytics or customer insights related jobs is a plus
 Experience in banking industry would be a plus

Skills
 Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
 Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
 Highly motivated team player with strong presentation skills
 Good knowledge of SQL/R/Python programming
 Ability to present complex information in simple terms with clear recommendations
 Strong quantitative analytical capabilities combined with experience in dealing with large and/or complex data
 Outstanding data interpretation skills and attention to detail
 Ability to work in a fast paced environment, adapt easily to changing situations and demonstrates flexibility in juggling priorities
 Problem solver with a can do attitude
 Knowledge of visualization tools (Tableau, etc...) is a plus
