Customer Service Representative
Janel Group is seeking a Part-time Customer Service Representative to coordinate freight movements, communicate with drivers, and ensure timely deliveries to our customers. The ideal candidate will have experience in trucking/logistics, as well as customer service experience dealing directly with the customer.
The position is based in our Lake Charles, LA office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and dispatch drivers to appropriate locations based on customer needs and load availability.
- Communicate with drivers to provide route updates, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding shipments, delivery times, and service issues.
- Coordinate with warehouses, freight brokers, and shippers to optimize routes and load efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, driver logs, and load details.
- Assist in resolving transportation delays, driver concerns, and other logistical challenges.
- Resolve customer complaints and service-related issues promptly and professionally.
- Maintain positive relationships with customers, carriers, and vendors.
- Handle incoming calls and emails regarding dispatch, delivery confirmations, and load availability.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, required
- Solid computer skills, required
- Solid communication skills, required
- 6-12 months of relevant experience as a dispatcher in the trucking and/or hot shot industry, highly preferred
