We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Customer Service Dispatcher to join our logistics team. Responsibilities
- Dispatch drivers and carriers efficiently using transportation management systems (TMS) to optimize routes and delivery schedules.
- Coordinate freight shipments, shipping & receiving activities, and fleet management tasks to meet customer expectations.
- Utilize GPS technology and GIS tools to track vehicle locations, monitor routes, and provide real-time updates.
- Maintain accurate data entry through typing and multi-line phone systems, ensuring all dispatch records are current and precise.
- Communicate clearly with drivers, vendors, and customers via phone etiquette and professional communication skills to resolve issues promptly.
- Monitor supply chain operations, analyze transportation data, and generate reports for continuous improvement efforts.
- Support logistics functions by managing transportation planning, 3PL (third-party logistics) coordination, and shipping documentation.
- Handle all driver communications.
- Have a good understanding of DOT Requirements and HOS Requirements.
- Good Understanding of email.
Skills
- Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret transportation data for effective decision-making.
- Proficiency in transportation management systems; familiarity with Samsara is a plus.
- Knowledge of GIS, GPS tracking, freight management, and logistics principles to support efficient dispatching.
- Excellent communication skills combined with professional phone etiquette for interacting with internal teams and external partners.
- Experience with shipping & receiving procedures, fleet management software, and supply chain coordination.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities using multi-line phone systems while maintaining attention to detail in data entry tasks.
- Familiarity with transportation planning tools like SyteLine or similar ERP systems; understanding of 3PL operations enhances effectiveness.
