Basic Function
Serve as primary point of contact for the Borough to include answering, screening, and directing phone calls to appropriate departments and staff. Provide clerical support for the General Service Department and other Borough Departments. Process requests for Borough ID cards and ADA cards for the public.

Typical Duties

Perform clerical duties for the General Services Department and the Borough. Answers, screens, and directs phone calls to departments/staff, or take messages as needed. Provide routine information to the public to include location of departments, staff and meetings.

Issue Borough ID cards for employees. Issue ADA cards for the public per Borough policy. Schedule appointments for ADA cards upon receiving an application from a valid medical provider. Ensure program compliance. Monitor ID card supplies to ensure adequate inventory is available.

Provide routine clerical support for various Borough departments as assigned by General Services Manager or designee, (stuff envelopes, apply labels, stamping, etc.).

Primary point of contact for departments checking out motor pool vehicles. Create monthly calendars and monitor log sheets for motor pool vehicles.

Backup for opening the Juanita Helms Administrative Center (JHAC) building..

May assist in keycard control.

Perform other tasks as assigned.
Position Requirements
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and two years of receptionist and customer service experience.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilties

Must be extremely detail-oriented, personable, able to multitask, and have professional phone etiquette. Must be punctual. Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbal, in a business environment.

Ability to greet the public in a pleasant and courteous manner, promptly answer telephone calls, and transfer calls to the correct departments.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively and courteously with the general public, other organizations/agencies, and other staff members. Ability to perform duties in an efficient, professional, and courteous manner.

Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to operate the ID card database program, digital webcam camera, and ID card printer.

Must be capable of functioning with minimal directions and perform work in an organized and professional manner, sometimes under stressful conditions.

Ability to provide general maintenance to ID card printer as needed.

Job Responsibility
Does not supervise; performs mostly routine duties with a few minor problems that must be resolved on own initiative with little immediate supervision; the consequences of error, carelessness or mistaken judgment require minimal effort to recover.
Work Environment
General office where conditions are pleasant; good, clean conditions where accidents/hazards are negligible; requires short periods of light lifting, pushing or pulling (1-25 lbs.).
