Job Description

All Island Fuel is seeking a reliable, organized, and customer-focused Customer Service Representative / Dispatcher to join our team. This position plays a vital role in ensuring our customers receive outstanding service while helping coordinate efficient fuel oil deliveries throughout Long Island.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable answering a high volume of incoming calls, scheduling fuel deliveries, assisting customers with questions, and communicating with drivers throughout the day to ensure routes are completed efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming customer calls regarding fuel oil deliveries, pricing, service requests, and general inquiries
• Schedule fuel oil deliveries accurately and efficiently
• Dispatch drivers and coordinate daily delivery routes
• Communicate with drivers throughout the day regarding deliveries, schedule changes, and customer requests
• Monitor delivery progress and assist in resolving routing or scheduling issues
• Enter and update customer information accurately in company software
• Process customer payments and orders when needed
• Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining professionalism and courtesy
• Assist customers with delivery status updates and account questions
• Maintain accurate records and documentation
• Work closely with management, dispatchers, and drivers to ensure smooth daily operations

Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience preferred
• Dispatching or logistics experience preferred, but not required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent phone etiquette
• Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn company software
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Reliable, diligent, dependable, and punctual
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Excellent attendance record and commitment to being present and on time for scheduled shifts

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the home heating oil, fuel delivery, transportation, logistics, or service industries
• Familiarity with dispatching software, routing systems, or GPS tracking
• Experience handling high call volumes

Schedule

• Full-Time
• Monday through Friday: 7:00 AM – 2:00 PM
• Saturday: 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM
• Additional hours may be available during periods of high demand
