Customer Service Representative/part-time (Community Corrections)

Minimum Qualifications

Chesterfield Community Corrections Services provides supervision, case management and supportive services to individuals under pretrial and local probation supervision in Chesterfield County and the City of Colonial Heights.

Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and motivated part-time Customer Service Representative to join our fast-paced, high-volume Local Probation and Pretrial Agency. This front-line role serves as the first point of contact for the public and provides essential clerical support to multiple units within Community Corrections.

What You’ll Do:
  • Run a busy front desk with confidence
  • Assist clients and monitor the service kiosk
  • Manage multi-line phones like a pro
  • Process paperwork + enter data accurately
  • Look up info across multiple databases
  • Support Pretrial & Probation teams behind the scenes
What You Bring:
  • HS diploma/GED
  • One year of clerical/customer service experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Strong communication + organization skills
  • Comfortable working with diverse clients
  • Computer savvy + detail-focused
  • Flexible, positive, and ready to multitask
  • Bonus: knowledge of the criminal justice system
  • Must be eligible for CJIS + VCIN certification

Current valid driver’s license and good driving record required. Based on the Virginia DMV point system, records must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months. Out-of-state driving records must be obtained by applicant and presented at time of interview. Records must reflect at least three years of history and be dated within thirty days of interview date.

Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check, and education/degree verification required.

This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice’s “Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy” and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent criminal background check. Must be a US citizen or have been a lawful resident of the US for the past ten consecutive years.

This position is considered Safety Sensitive and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

Shift

28 hours/week between 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday
