About the Role

This position is one of the most important roles in our company.

The Customer Service/HVAC CAM Programmer is the key connection between our customers, shop, and shipping team. You’ll take incoming orders, clarify job details, communicate updates, enter orders accurately into our systems, and help keep production running smoothly.

When this role is done well, customers are taken care of, the shop has what it needs, and jobs move out the door on time.

This is not a “sit back and wait” role. We are looking for someone who is proactive, responsive, detail-oriented, and ready to own their responsibilities each day.

What You’ll Do
Serve as a primary point of contact for customer orders and requests
Communicate with customers by phone and email in a professional, timely manner
Ask questions and clarify missing job details before problems happen
Enter orders accurately into CAM / ERP systems
Create clear production instructions for the shop
Help prioritize and schedule daily production needs
Follow up on open items and keep customers informed
Work closely with production, shipping, and leadership teams
Solve problems quickly and keep jobs moving

What We’re Looking For
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Confidence speaking on the phone and handling customer needs professionally
Strong followup habits and reliability
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to stay organized while managing multiple priorities
Sense of urgency and strong work ethic
Positive attitude and teamfirst mindset
Comfortable with computers, software, and learning new systems
HVAC, construction, manufacturing, or sheet metal experience preferred
CAM experience is a plus, but we can train the right person

Zinger Sheet Metal is a third generation family owned company serving the HVAC industry since 1954. Zinger Sheet Metal was started in a garage by Henry and Harold Zinger. The Zinger brothers were innovative and understood the value of installing prefabricated duct. Under the ownership of Nelson Capestany, Henry’s son in law, the company grew by investing in machinery and manufacturing processes. David Capestany, the grandson of Henry Zinger, has continued to grow the company through expanded product offerings, technology and a culture of continuous improvement.
