The Role

We are seeking an experienced Customs Clearance Specialist to join our team in Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA). The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of customs processes in Dubai, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to ensure seamless clearance and export operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle clearance of cargo arriving by sea to Jebel Ali Free Zone and manage overland export formalities from JAFZA to outside the UAE.
• Prepare, submit, and follow up on import/export/transit declarations through Dubai Trade and Mirsal 2.
• Manage amendments, deposit submissions, and refunds of guarantees with Dubai Customs.
• Ensure timely issuance of exit certificates and compliance with all customs and free zone regulations.
• Classify goods accurately using the correct HS codes and secure necessary approvals from relevant UAE authorities (e.g., MOFAIC, Dubai Municipality, MOCCAE, MOHAP).
• Coordinate with shipping lines, transporters, and internal teams to ensure smooth clearance and delivery.
• Stay up to date with customs regulations, compliance standards, and trade requirements.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of proven experience in customs clearance (imports & exports) within the UAE.
• Strong working knowledge of Dubai Trade (import, export, and transit BOE) including Delivery Order (D/O) processing, Duty Payment (DP), and related functions.
• Hands-on experience dealing with JAFZA and Dubai Customs.
• Familiar with sea freight clearance, overland export processes, and related documentation.
• Skilled in import and export document preparation (invoice, packing list, HS code summary) with fast typing ability in Excel and Word.
• Deep understanding of goods classification (HS codes) and obtaining required approvals from relevant authorities.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Willingness to work with full dedication, contribute to company growth, and take on a managerial role in the future.
• Ability to work independently and on-site in JAFZA.
