Responsibilities:
- Performs financial clearance function for every patient on assigned worklist within the department approved timeline and using workflow tools as designed.

Effectively works to resolve any identified or outstanding issues for the patients they have financially cleared at any time during the revenue cycle.

Works on any special projects or initiatives related to the workflow of patient access with a mind open to change and with a full awareness of the focus on patient and provider satisfaction.

Performs the patient registration and admission process.

Provides excellent customer service to all patients, guests and family members.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education
-
High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience
-
5 years of experience in healthcare-related industry or hospital Patient Financial Services or Patient Access department, with emphasis on customer service, point of service collections, insurance verification and authorizations processes, patient liability estimation and counseling/collection experience.
- Experience working with public and multiple customers (internal and external), working under stress, meeting deadlines and performing daily assignments with consistent accuracy are standard requirements.
- Responsible for protecting the financial assets of the organization by insuring payer sources are valid, authorized and liability is effectively communicated and preferably collected.

Licensure/Certification/Registration/ETC.

Patient access professional designation CHAM encouraged.
Compensation/Benefits

$18.08-$29.53/hr depending on previous work experience.
