CVOR Registered Nurse (CVOR RN)

Location: Sanford, FL
Employment Type: Full-Time | Permanent

Shift & Schedule

  • Days (Rotating Weekends)

  • On-call required (approximately 10–15 shifts per month)

  • Must reside within 30 minutes of the facility

Compensation

Hourly Pay (Based on Experience):

  • $34.85/hr – 2 years

  • $38.28/hr – 5 years

  • $42.86/hr – 10 years

  • $49.06/hr – 17+ years

On-Call Compensation:

  • $4.00/hr while on call

  • Time-and-a-half for call-back hours

Incentives

  • Sign-on Bonus: $10,000

  • Relocation assistance available (case-by-case basis)



Role Overview

The CVOR Registered Nurse plays a vital role in the perioperative care of cardiovascular surgery patients. This position requires strong clinical expertise, independent decision-making, and the ability to thrive in a high-acuity surgical environment while collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive pre-operative patient assessments

  • Educate patients and families regarding surgical procedures and perioperative care

  • Prepare patients for surgery, including IV therapy and administration of pre-operative medications

  • Participate in surgical time-outs, briefings, debriefings, and adherence to universal safety protocols

  • Monitor patient condition intraoperatively and postoperatively, responding promptly to emergent situations

  • Deliver safe, evidence-based, patient-centered nursing care

  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and OR leadership

  • Accurately document patient care in real time

  • Support quality improvement and patient safety initiatives within the Operating Room

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care CVOR RN experience (required)

  • Active Florida RN license or active compact RN license

    • Compact license holders must obtain a Florida RN license within 60 days if relocating

  • RN Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing

  • BLS certification within 30 days of start

  • ACLS certification within 6 months

  • PALS or ENPC certification within 6 months
