Role Purpose

We are seeking an enthusiastic Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Engineer with strong hands-on experience in industrial control and safety systems and experience in OT cybersecurity principles. The role is execution-focused and supports live plant, commissioning, and brownfield environments across vendor-neutral DCS, PLC, and SIS platforms.

OT Cybersecurity & Risk Collaboration

- Act as a technical interface between OT engineering, cybersecurity, and operations teams.
- Support implementation of IEC 62443 principles (zones, conduits, defense-in-depth) from an engineering perspective.
- Provide engineering validation for OT security monitoring alerts, anomalies, or incidents.
- Support secure system migrations, upgrades, and remote engineering access.

Embedded OT Cybersecurity Responsibilities

- Ensure secure configuration baselines for controllers, HMIs, engineering workstations, and OT servers.
- Validate user access controls, role-based privileges, and segregation of duties.
- Enforce disciplined change management for logic, configuration, and HMI modifications.
- Identify cyber-related risks impacting safety, availability, and operational reliability.

OT Cybersecurity Awareness (Applied)

- Understanding of OT-specific threat scenarios affecting control and safety systems.
- Familiarity with IEC 62443 concepts at an engineering awareness level.
- Awareness of secure remote access, patching constraints, and operational risk in OT environments.

Control & Safety Systems Engineering

- Perform controller-to-field communication setup and verification, including redundant and fault-tolerant architectures (e.g., TMR).
- Verify and reconcile controller databases with field instrumentation and HMI configurations.
- Ensure consistency across controllers, applications, networks, and HMI layers in line with project engineering standards.

Loop Checking & Commissioning

- Execute end-to-end loop checks from field instruments through marshaling, I/O, controllers, and HMIs.
- Validate signal scaling, alarms, trips, interlocks, and fail-safe behavior.
- Support FAT, SAT, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.
- Document loop check results, deviations, punch lists, and corrective actions.

HMI Configuration & Modification

- Perform HMI graphics updates, tag configuration, and display logic modifications.
- Configure, verify, and rationalize alarms in alignment with operational requirements.
- Ensure HMI changes are traceable, approved, and aligned with control logic and site standards.

Embedded OT Cybersecurity Responsibilities

- Ensure secure configuration baselines for controllers, HMIs, engineering workstations, and OT servers.
- Validate user access controls, role-based privileges, and segregation of duties.
- Enforce disciplined change management for logic, configuration, and HMI modifications.
- Identify cyber-related risks impacting safety, availability, and operational reliability.

Required Technical Competencies

- Strong hands-on experience with industrial DCS, PLC, and/or SIS platforms .
- Solid understanding of redundancy concepts (TMR, hot-standby, failover).
- Proven execution experience in loop checking, commissioning, and HMI modification.
- Strong knowledge of industrial instrumentation (pressure, flow, temperature, level, analyzers).
- Ability to interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, cause & effect charts, and control narratives.

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant industrial experience.
- Experience in commissioning, brownfield, migration, or live plant support projects is strongly preferred.

Professional Attributes

- Execution-driven, methodical, and detail-oriented.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capability.
- Able to operate effectively under commissioning timelines and operational constraints.
- Clear communicator with engineering, operations, and cybersecurity stakeholders.
