Plexlane Technologies is seeking a hands-on Cybersecurity Operations & Infrastructure Engineer to support cybersecurity remediation, infrastructure hardening, and operational security initiatives for clients operating in regulated and defense-related environments.
This role will support projects focused on NIST 800-171, CMMC readiness, vulnerability remediation, secure infrastructure operations, endpoint hardening, and network security improvements. The ideal candidate is technically strong across infrastructure and cybersecurity domains and comfortable working in fast-paced environments requiring both operational execution and client interaction.
The position will work closely with security leadership, infrastructure architects, and client stakeholders to implement and operationalize cybersecurity improvements across cloud, endpoint, network, and on-premises environments.
Key ResponsibilitiesCybersecurity Operations
- Support day-to-day cybersecurity operations and remediation activities across enterprise environments.
- Investigate, prioritize, and remediate security vulnerabilities identified through internal and external assessments.
- Assist with security monitoring, alert triage, logging, and incident response activities.
- Support implementation and maintenance of security controls aligned to NIST 800-171 and CMMC requirements.
- Participate in remediation tracking, validation, and documentation efforts.
Infrastructure & Endpoint Security
- Implement endpoint hardening and device compliance controls across Windows-based environments.
- Support patch management, operating system updates, and secure configuration baselines.
- Assist with Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Defender, endpoint encryption, and device management initiatives.
- Support identity and access management activities including MFA, conditional access, and privileged access controls.
- Perform server hardening and infrastructure remediation activities across cloud and on-premises systems.
Network Security Remediation
- Support firewall administration, rule review, and network security remediation efforts.
- Assist with VPN configuration, secure remote access, segmentation, and network hardening initiatives.
- Support implementation and maintenance of secure network architectures and logging capabilities.
- Assist with troubleshooting security-related network and connectivity issues.
Security Tooling & Monitoring
- Support deployment and operational management of cybersecurity tools and platforms.
- Assist with SIEM/logging platforms, vulnerability management tools, endpoint security platforms, and monitoring systems.
- Participate in operational security reviews and remediation planning.
Documentation & Collaboration
- Document remediation activities, technical changes, and operational procedures.
- Work closely with cybersecurity leadership, infrastructure architects, and client IT teams.
- Support evidence collection and operational readiness activities for compliance initiatives.
- Participate in client meetings and provide technical updates as required.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in infrastructure, systems, or cybersecurity engineering roles.
- Experience supporting cybersecurity remediation or operational security initiatives.
- Strong understanding of Windows infrastructure, endpoint management, and enterprise networking.
- Experience with vulnerability remediation and security hardening practices.
- Familiarity with network security concepts including firewalls, VPNs, segmentation, and secure remote access.
- Experience with Microsoft security technologies such as:
- Microsoft Intune
- Microsoft Defender
- Microsoft Entra ID
- Microsoft Sentinel
- Experience with vulnerability management tools such as Tenable, Qualys, or Rapid7.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and in client-facing environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting NIST 800-171 or CMMC remediation initiatives.
- Experience working in Aerospace & Defense or regulated industries.
- Familiarity with GCC High or Azure Government environments.
- Experience with Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco, or similar network security platforms.
- Exposure to SIEM/SOC operations and incident response workflows.
- Experience with PowerShell or infrastructure automation.
- Relevant certifications such as:
- Security+
- CISSP
- Microsoft Security Certifications
- CCNA / CCNP
- Azure Security Certifications

Pay: $55.00 - $65.00 per hour
