Key Responsibilities

Security Monitoring & Threat Detection

Monitor networks, systems, and applications for cyber threats

Detect suspicious activities, malware, or unauthorized access

Use SIEM tools and security dashboards

Core task: prevent fraud and protect banking systems

Incident Response & Risk Management

Investigate security incidents and breaches

Respond quickly to minimize damage

Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing

Security Implementation

Configure firewalls, encryption, and access controls

Implement cybersecurity frameworks and policies

Ensure secure banking applications and online systems

Compliance & Auditing

Ensure compliance with:

Banking regulations

Data protection laws

Support audits and risk assessments

Awareness & Training

Train employees on cybersecurity best practices

Promote safe handling of sensitive financial data

Skills & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or Computer Science

Experience:

Entry-level: 1–3 years

Mid-level: 3–7+ years

Certifications (highly preferred):

CEH, CISSP, CompTIA Security+

Skills:

Network security (firewalls, VPNs)

Threat analysis & incident response

Cloud security & risk management
