We are seeking a talented individual to join our Placement team at Marsh.

This role will be based in NYC. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office. In this role, you will leverage significant risk expertise and deep knowledge of industry and carriers to design and execute placement solutions that meet complex client needs. You will work as part of a highly collaborative placement and client advisory team, partnering closely with client executives and broader client teams to support both client retention and new business growth. You will also play a key role in articulating the value of our placement function in the market. We will count on you to:

  • Use significant risk expertise and knowledge of industry and carriers to develop placement solutions that align with client needs and objectives.
  • Implement the placement strategy to achieve growth goals while delivering exceptional client service and supporting client retention and new business production.
  • Develop the go-to-market strategy for assigned accounts, articulating the value of the placement function and contributing to pricing of services as applicable.
  • Facilitate the submission of coverage specifications and obtain quotes from carriers based on the “assist, advise, and assume” transaction model, binding coverage and ensuring accuracy of placement binders.
  • Create and maintain strong relationships with practice teams, insurance markets, clients, carriers and underwriters, advising on changing insurance and risk management market conditions and key developments affecting products and coverage.
  • Drive senior placement and technical support activities on assigned accounts, including ensuring procedural compliance, reviewing data and updating annual renewal exhibits, maintaining accurate placement system entries, and advising management on client issues or trends through clear and concise communication.

What you need to have:

  • Proven experience in insurance placement, broking, underwriting, or a related risk advisory role with exposure to complex commercial clients.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance markets, products, and coverage, with the ability to interpret market conditions and explain implications to internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage the placement lifecycle end-to-end, including marketing to carriers, securing terms, binding coverage, and ensuring documentation accuracy.
  • Excellent relationship management, communication and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.

What makes you stand out:

  • Advanced technical expertise in a relevant line of business or specialty area and experience leading placement strategy for complex or marquee accounts.
  • Professional designations or progress toward relevant qualifications (e.g., insurance, risk management or related credentials).
  • Experience advising senior stakeholders on market trends and contributing to the development of placement strategies, solutions and best practices.

Why join our team:
