We are seeking an experienced and motivated Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) Functional Consultant to join our team. In this role, you will be the vital link between our end users business needs and the technical implementation of the D365 F&O solution. You will be responsible for analyzing business processes, configuring the system, leading workshops, and ensuring the solution delivers maximum business value.
- Requirements Gathering & Analysis: Conduct workshops with business stakeholders to understand and document current processes, pain points, and future-state requirements.
- Solution Design & Configuration: Design and configure the D365 F&O system to meet business requirements in one or more core functional areas (e.g., Finance, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, Projects).
- Gap Analysis: Identify gaps between business requirements and standard D365 F&O functionality and propose solutions, including workarounds, customizations, or process changes.
- Customization Specification: Work closely with technical consultants (developers) to define functional design documents (FDDs) for any required customizations, integrations, or data migrations.
- Testing & Validation: Lead the testing efforts—create test plans, execute system integration testing (SIT), support user acceptance testing (UAT), and track resolution of issues.
- Training & Change Management: Develop training materials and conduct end-user training sessions to ensure smooth adoption of the new system.
- Post-Go-Live Support: Provide hyper-care support after go-live, address user queries, and resolve functional issues.
- Project Management: Manage tasks, timelines, and deliverables for your functional workstream, providing regular updates to the project manager.
Requirements
- Experience: 3+ years of hands-on functional consulting experience implementing and configuring Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
- Functional Expertise: Deep knowledge in at least one of the following modules:
- Financials: General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Budgeting, Cash & Bank Management.
- Supply Chain Management: Procurement & Sourcing, Inventory Management, Sales & Marketing, Warehouse Management.
- Manufacturing: Production Control, Costing, Master Planning.
- Other: Project Management & Accounting, Human Resources.
- Implementation Methodology: Proven experience with full-lifecycle implementations using methodologies like Agile or Sure Step (Discover, Analyze, Design, Develop, Test, Deploy).
- Technical Understanding: Strong understanding of the D365 F&O technology stack (e.g., LCS - Lifecycle Services, Azure DevOps) to effectively collaborate with technical teams.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to translate complex business needs into functional specifications.
- Communication: Outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Microsoft Certifications: Relevant certifications such as:
- MB-300: Microsoft Dynamics 365: Core Finance and Operations
- MB-310: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance
- MB-330: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management
- Industry Experience: Previous experience in [e.g., Manufacturing, Retail, Professional Services, Distribution] is a significant plus.
- Advanced Modules: Experience with advanced modules like Advanced Warehouse Management (WHS), Transportation Management (TMS), or Advanced Cost Accounting.
- Integration & Data: Experience with data migration tools (e.g., Data Management Framework / DIXF) and a basic understanding of integration patterns.
