When you join MetLife’s U.S. Business Data & Analytics team, you’ll directly support U.S. sales and customer experience by delivering accurate information and targeted analytical products to our Business partners. We combine deep MetLife business knowledge with industry-leading technical expertise. We are seeking Master’s‑level Data & Analytics Interns to join our team. This internship is designed for graduate students interested in assisting with diverse projects such as building dashboards, creating machine learning models, modernizing data systems, streamlining operations data processes, and more. Selected candidates will have strong communication skills and knowledge in data science, data modeling, data engineering, business intelligence, data analysis, artificial intelligence, or other data & analytics skills as described by the candidate’s resume. We’re seeking a candidate who’s interested in applying data and analytics to solve real-time business challenges. Because interns will work with stakeholders across MetLife, strong relationship building skills are a must!

What You Will Do (Key Responsibilities)

Create targeted Machine Learning models for various business purposes
-
Assist in the development of new tools and processes using AI capabilities
-
Design dashboards and translate technical data into digestible business insights
-
Solve business problems using Python, Azure Cloud, PowerBI, Databricks, Erwin, Collibra, GenAI and/or other tools and languages

Build relationships with U.S. Business and other stakeholders to improve business understanding

Communicate and present insights, recommendations, and limitations clearly to technical and business stakeholders

Attend professional development, peer learning, and business acumen sessions to build your career skills and MetLife network.
What You Will Need to Succeed (Required Qualifications)

Enrolled in a master's program related to data and analytics or a field requiring significant work with data science, data modeling, data engineering, business intelligence, data analysis, artificial intelligence, other data & analytics skills as described by the candidate

Graduation date no earlier than December 2026 and no later than June 2027

Minimum GPA of 3.0

Demonstrated communication skills, including the ability to translate complex technical information for non-technical audiences; write clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences; and communicate early and often to stakeholders regarding deliverables

Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to design, pitch, and implement solutions for diverse teams

Ability to work both independently and on a team, actively participate in meetings in-person or with cameras on, and to collaborate across the organization to remove barriers to goals

Basic knowledge of SQL with some coding experience in Python, Java, or C++

Internship Program Information

Internship length will be approximately 8 weeks and is flexible based on academic schedules
