The Daily Citizen Digital Media Specialist position exists to create, develop, and execute The Daily Citizen’s web content, social media, and special projects.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:- Manages and maintains ministry’s website for The Daily Citizen, editing, producing, and posting articles daily
- Manages all aspects of web-related activity including the collection of new content from Ministry Communications content producers, creation of images, design of pages, technical programming of content, monitoring and updating content to reflect current priorities and projects
- Is responsible for posting on and monitoring social media platforms (Facebook and Twitter)
- Develops, maintains, and updates social media networking, including managing metrics, images, and other contributing elements of a successful digital effort; manages social media comments and responding to constituents; manages both the technical and content aspects of social media channels. Works closely with digital media team to ensure agreed upon outcomes are achieved and to promote The Daily Citizen resources and initiatives on other Focus social media outlets
- Coordinates with the Marketing, Creative, and Social Media teams to promote products, resources, and campaigns of the The Daily Citizen and the Public Relations team
- Is responsible for reviewing and compiling all digital metrics for monthly and quarterly score cards
- Creates and manages news landing pages for The Daily Citizen on a project basis
- Creates weekly and monthly eNewsletters and miscellaneous marketing media
- Develops and executes special projects at the request of the Vice President, including constituent engagement communications, initiatives, and Get-out-the-Vote election efforts
- Assists Vice President in the execution of content calendar and special projects
- Coordinates with external vendor partners to produce resources and execute initiatives via production schedule and project deadlines
- Manages, edits, and produces Jim Daly’s Daly Focus Blog, as well as manage president’s social media accounts
- Coordinates and distributes weekly Jim Daly emails
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with partnering divisions and organizations to ensure cooperative and productive ministry environment and successful completion of projects
- Communicates clearly, concisely, and persuasively in content produced as well as in project updates, especially regarding obstacles that impact successful (on-time, on-budget, on-brand) execution of projects
- Maintains documentation of work, approvals, milestones, deliverables, and budget
Other Duties/Responsibilities:- Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge/Experience:- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, or Journalism (or related field)
- General content management system (CMS) experience required; knowledgeable in website content best practices and content management frameworks; WordPress proficiency preferred
- 5-7 years of writing and editing experience to include content management, project management of content editing or similar functions
- Working knowledge of Focus on the Family’s mission, values, and objectives
- Computer proficiency in a variety of Microsoft Office Tools (required: Word, Excel, Adobe, and PowerPoint)
- Experience with an image management system (Photoshop, Canva, etc.) or equivalent preferred
- Experience with public policy issues preferred

- Ability to creatively apply “Why this applies to my daily life?” lens to promoting Ministry Communications messages/resources via social media and constituent communications

Pay Range: $64,480 to $74,360
