Job Description
1. Prepare and file sales tax returns with federal and provincial authorities accurately and within statutory timelines.
2. Calculate, verify, and record withholding tax deductions on vendor payments prior to payment processing.
3. Prepare and submit withholding tax statements and ensure timely execution of related tax payments.
4. Perform monthly tax reconciliations, including sales tax and withholding tax, and reconcile results with accounting records.
5. Support month-end and period-end closing activities, including preparation of tax-related entries, accruals, and adjustments.
6. Maintain complete and audit-ready tax documentation, including returns, payment records, and reconciliation schedules.
7. Support responses to tax authority notices, queries, and information requests in coordination with senior team members.
8. Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws, internal controls, and evolving organizational requirements.
Position Requirement
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. 1–3 years of relevant experience in tax compliance.
3. Strong understanding of sales tax (provincial & federal), withholding tax rules, and compliance procedures.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems for data analysis and reconciliation.
5. Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
6. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
7. Effective communication skills in English and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
8. Proactive, organized, and accountable for timely and accurate compliance deliverables.
