At WorkForce WV (WFWV), this position is in the Bureau of Labor Market Information (LMI) unit. WFWV is seeking a research-minded, detail-oriented Data Analyst 1. Under general supervision, this position performs full-performance level work in the collection, compilation, and analysis of economic, occupational, and workforce data obtained from a variety of sources such as research studies, state records, and federal surveys. This position involves the skillset necessary to quickly master our specialized data system to track and estimate WV’s economic and employment trends. This position will generate crucial long-term and short-term employment projections, as well as employment and wage estimates, for state and local workforce areas. Analyze labor market and economic data to write clear data summaries and author both routine publications and special reports – such as the West Virginia Annual Economic Review. Compile, update, and maintain workforce data for the Division’s website and efficiently field time-sensitive data requests from both the public and private sectors. Partner with internal team members to devise data collection methods and execute targeted surveys for unique research projects and special reports. Occasional in-state and out-of-state travel may be required. May perform other related duties as assigned. Please note, this is an exempt position and is not covered under the merit system administered by the West Virginia Division of Personnel.
