Data Analyst

Job Purpose

The Data Analyst will play a critical role in transforming raw data into clear, actionable insights that drive decision-making across the organization. This role combines analytical depth with strong engineering discipline—designing high-quality dashboards, building scalable data pipelines, and ensuring the integrity and reliability of the datasets that power business reporting. The ideal candidate brings a balance of technical rigour, business understanding, and a commitment to delivering insights that are trusted, timely, and impactful.

• Conduct exploratory and deep-dive analyses to uncover trends, anomalies, operational inefficiencies, and commercial opportunities.
• Translate business questions into structured analytical approaches, delivering insights that influence decisions and outcomes.
• Produce accurate, well-documented outputs for ad hoc requests, ensuring clarity, traceability, and timely delivery.

Dashboards & Reporting (Power BI)

• Design and develop intuitive, high-performance Power BI dashboards that communicate insights clearly and effectively.
• Establish reusable reporting assets (semantic models, DAX measures, templates, definitions) to drive consistency and reduce duplication.
• Promote self-service analytics by ensuring dashboards are well-labelled, documented, and easy for business users to navigate.

Data structures & automation

• Build and maintain automated data pipelines and curated datasets that support scalable, repeatable analysis and reporting.
• Clean, validate, and reconcile data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy, consistency, and trust in business outputs.
• Optimise SQL queries, data models, and transformation logic for performance, reliability, and maintainability.

Stakeholder engagement

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to clarify requirements, validate assumptions, and priorities work based on business value.
• Present insights in a clear, structured manner to both technical and non-technical audiences, translating analysis into actionable recommendations.
• Act as a trusted partner to business teams, helping them understand data, interpret trends, and make informed decisions.
• Technical Expertise
• 4+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or data engineering.
• Advanced SQL skills, including complex querying, data modelling, and performance optimization.
• Strong Power BI expertise: data modelling, DAX, dashboard design, performance tuning, and usability best practices.
• Proficiency in Python for data manipulation, automation, and analytical workflows (e.g., pandas).
• Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms is preferred.
