Data Analyst - Business & Data Mapping

This role is ideal for an experienced Data Analyst specializing in Business & Data Mapping within the Teradata FSLDM environment. You will work closely with business stakeholders, data architects, and ETL teams to translate financial-services requirements into accurate, analytics-ready datasets. Your expertise will support regulatory reporting, data governance, and enterprise data warehouse initiatives for large-scale banking programs. The position demands strong analytical depth, hands-on experience with FSLDM structures, and the ability to convert complex banking processes into clearly defined mapping and documentation outputs.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document functional requirements for analytics, reporting, and regulatory needs
• Conduct workshops to understand banking workflows and map them to relevant FSLDM subject areas
• Create functional specifications, business glossaries, and process flow documents
• Perform detailed data profiling to assess completeness, consistency, and quality across multiple source systems
• Identify data gaps and propose remediation or transformation strategies
• Analyze Teradata FSLDM structures for suitability, alignment, and required enhancements
• Develop complete Source-to-Target Mapping (STTM) documents, integrating systems such as BANCs, LOS, CLOS, and MUREX with FSLDM entities
• Define transformation logic, lookup rules, and business rules to support downstream ETL development
• Ensure mapping, lineage, and documentation adhere to regulatory, governance, and data-quality standards
• Utilize logical and physical FSLDM models to accurately represent business requirements
• Provide recommendations for model extensions or customizations when required
• Support SIT/UAT cycles by validating outputs against defined rules and business expectations
• Work with ETL teams for issue analysis, triage, and resolution
• Maintain mapping inventories, lineage documentation, metadata standards, and change-management records
  
  

What Makes You a Great Fit

• 5-10 years of experience in data/business analysis within the banking or financial services domain
• Deep understanding of Teradata FSLDM or similar large-scale financial services data models
• Strong SQL skills for data profiling, validation, and analysis across Teradata/Oracle environments
• Proven ability to create detailed STTMs, business rules, and transformation logic
• Exposure to regulatory frameworks such as Basel or BCBS 239
• Experience collaborating with ETL development teams (Informatica, DataStage, Talend)
• Hands-on proficiency with ERwin or similar data modeling tools
• Strong communication, analytical reasoning, and documentation skills
• Ability to manage stakeholders effectively, work cross-functionally, and deliver high-quality mapping outputs in complex environments
• Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in data-governed, process-heavy settings
