About the Role:
Neurocrine Biosciences, Inc. (NASDAQ: NBIX) is offering the opportunity to gain research experience in the world of biotechnology. This internship focuses on developing and maintaining analytical tools and reporting solutions to support clinical teams in designing, executing, and analyzing clinical trials. Interns will collaborate with members of the cross-functional Bioinformatics & Data Analytics team, utilizing programming, statistical analysis, and visualization techniques to convert data into actionable insights for clinical development and operations teams. This 10-week program is structured to be project-focused, providing participants with a dedicated and immersive experience.

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):

Collaborate cross-functionally with IT, clinical, and other development teams to support the design, execution, and reporting of clinical trials.

Conduct an analytical project designed to test a hypothesis aimed at enhancing clinical trial operations and outcomes.

Help design and implement technical solutions, including data processing, basic modeling, and visualization to make data more accessible and understandable.

Support the team in identifying and resolving basic data issues and challenges during clinical trials, helping to improve data quality and efficiency.

Assist in optimizing analytical solutions for better performance and reliability.
Requirements:

Ability to commit to a 10-week full-time summer program, in San Diego

Pursuing a undergraduate degree with an interest in computer science, engineering, bio/pharma development, or a related technical field.

Demonstrated passion for solving complex problems with technology

Good verbal and written communication skills

Ability to think creatively and be a team player

Experience programming in any object-oriented language

Experience with relational databases/SQL is plus

Experience with statistical software is a plus

Experience with ML workflows is a plus
