Data Analyst Intern

Chef Loong Dim Sum is a fast-growing dining concept focused on delivering exceptional food and memorable guest experiences. We’re looking for a detail-oriented and curious Data Analyst Intern to help us turn our data into actionable insights that improve operations, customer satisfaction, and profitability.

Position Overview

As a Data Analyst Intern, you will work closely with management to analyze restaurant data, identify trends, and support data-driven decision-making. This role is ideal for someone interested in hospitality, business analytics, and real-world problem solving.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and organize data from POS systems, reservations, delivery platforms, and inventory tools
• Analyze sales trends, menu performance, and customer behavior
• Build reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as revenue, food costs, and labor efficiency
• Identify opportunities to optimize pricing, menu items, and staffing
• Support marketing efforts by analyzing promotions and customer engagement data
• Assist in forecasting demand and inventory needs
• Present findings and recommendations to management in a clear, concise manner

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Data Analytics, Business, Economics, Statistics, or a related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets (pivot tables, formulas, data visualization)
• Familiarity with SQL, Python, or data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) is a plus
• Attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets
• Strong communication skills and ability to translate data into insights

Preferred Skills

• Interest in the restaurant or hospitality industry
• Experience with POS systems (e.g., Toast, Square) is a plus
• Basic understanding of financial metrics (profit margins, food cost, labor cost)
