Responsibilities:
As a Senior Data Analyst with AMERICAN SYSTEMS, you will have the opportunity to do the following:

Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading activities to support systems engineering analytics, including integration of data from multiple source systems.

Develop, maintain, and optimize SQL queries, scripts, and stored procedures to support recurring and ad hoc data requests from various stakeholders.

Design and maintain dashboards and reports (e.g., in Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools) to provide visibility into system performance, requirements coverage, defects, risks, test results, and program metrics.

Support IV&V activities by analyzing requirements, test cases, defects, and traceability data to identify gaps, trends, and issues impacting systems.

Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis on program and system data to support decision making, performance measurement, and continuous improvement.

Collaborate with systems engineers, testers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data needs, refine reporting requirements, and translate business questions into analytical approaches.

Develop and maintain data dictionaries, business rules, and metadata documentation to ensure clarity, consistency, and reuse of data assets across teams.

Ensure data quality by performing validation, reconciliation, and anomaly detection; recommend and help implement corrective actions for data issues affecting analytics or reporting.

Apply statistical and analytical techniques to identify trends, correlations, and leading indicators related to system performance, defects, risks, and operational outcomes.

Support automation of data collection and reporting processes using scripts, workflows, or other tools to reduce manual effort and improve timeliness and repeatability.

Adhere to data governance, privacy, and security requirements, ensuring appropriate handling and protection of sensitive or controlled data.

Prepare and deliver clear, concise presentations, visualizations, and written analytical findings to both technical and nontechnical audiences, including leadership and project stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Active CBP BI or Top Secret Clearance

U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance

Bachelor’s degree in STEM field with 7+ years of experience.

Previous experience with Department of Homeland Security.

Previous experience in Systems Engineering and Acquisition.

Understanding the Systems Engineering and Acquisition Lifecycles.

Familiarity with IEEE standard 1012.

Excellent writing, communications, and briefing skills.

Demonstrates initiative, sound judgment, and effective decision-making.

Skilled in planning, organizing, and prioritizing tasks.

Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and experienced supporting senior Government leaders and technical/business professionals.
Pay Transparency Statement: AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $74,800.00/Yr. - USD $124,900.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
