About the Opportunity
The Data Analytics Specialist will provide critical data management and support within the WV Prevention Research Center for the Integrated Community Engagement (ICE) Collaborative Program and other PRC projects. The primary project involved is the five-year NIH National Institute on Drug Abuse-funded R01, “Shifting the Landscape in Primary Substance Use Prevention for Rural America: The Integrated Community Engagement Collaborative Cluster Trial” involving schools and communities in 36 WV counties (sites). In addition to the R01, the WVPRC has county level agreements within other WV and Kentucky counties, partnering with the Center for ICE implementation. The whole of this body of work makes up the ICE Collaborative.
This position will provide epidemiology and biostatistics, database development, and data visualization expertise to the team by supporting data collection, contributing to data collection and database management, coding and analyzing data, report writing, data visualization, and presentations of data to community members and state partners. The Data Analytics Specialist will produce critical data infrastructure development to create and disseminate individual reports for over 100 partners, at the school, county, and state level. In addition, the data manager will provide technical assistance for the PRC, communities, and other partners.

What You'll Do
-
Use advanced statistical methods and software to review and analyze collected data, looking for trends related to successes, program outcomes, and implementation of best practices, including SPSS, SAS, STATA, R, JMP, NVivo, Tableau, and others.

Conduct literature reviews.

Research and collect data through complex techniques and procedures of both qualitative and quantitative methods.

Monitor data collection and data collection protocols.
-
Manages project databases of qualitative and quantitative data.
-
Interprets, synthesizes, and analyzes data.
-
Build and maintain a data visualization plan for ICE and other PRC projects.
-
Create dynamic dashboards and tailored visual reports to communicate findings to diverse stakeholders, including state and community partners.

Create and generate annual reports for schools, counties, community and state partners, including written reports and presentations.
-
Writes and edits appropriate reports and other deliverables, including presentations, for a variety of stakeholders such state, federal and community audiences.

Develops training materials and conducts workshops to build capacity for internal and external partners.

Provide technical assistance to PRC, community, and state partners for dashboards and data reports.

Provides mentorship to team members and graduate students, fostering professional growth and building organizational capacity.

Schedules, organizes, and reports on status of data management activities.

Collaborates with state and community partners to implement data-driven strategies and integrate evaluation findings into continuous quality improvement initiatives

Meets with project teams on regular basis to maintain ongoing communication regarding the quality of the assistant's performance.

Attend full project teams with program partners and stakeholders.

Collaborates with Center Administration to ensure the fiscal management of resources related to data analytics and management and general financial management.
Qualifications-
Bachelor's degree in public health, psychology, sociology, social work, public administration, or a related discipline.

A minimum of two (2) years of combined experience in the following:

Biostatistics, epidemiology, data analysis and data visualization including application of statistical methodology.

Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered.

Skilled in the proficient use of computer software including the use of spreadsheet, word processing, video-conferencing software, web-based survey and presentation programs, and file management. Specific skills in survey development programs and data visualization software (such as Tableau, Microsoft BI, etc.) are preferred.
