Data and Information Management Team Lead (Open to Locals-UAE and expats)

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Status: Permanent/Staff, Resident

Location: United Arab Emirates

Work Schedule: Minimum of 5 days per week / 9 hours per day

Reporting To: Information Technology Manager

Mission:

  • Responsible for ensuring the efficient delivery, security, and regulatory compliance of the organisation’s information management services.
  • It encompasses ownership and execution of key initiatives—including Data and Information Management projects, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and Data Governance—while aligning these efforts with business goals and legislative standards.
  • Accountable for overseeing processes, systems, and team performance, striving for ongoing improvement and operational excellence.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Degree in Information Management / Data Management / Information Security or related field.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology (COBIT), Certified Records Manager (CRM), Data Governance and Stewardship Professional (DGSP)) is highly preferred
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Certified preferred.

Experience:

  • 10+ years’ experience working within an IT or Data Management environment.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in Records and Information Management or Data Governance roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
  • Managing Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) migrations and implementations.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) technologies and practices.
  • Data Dictionaries and Metadata management.
  • Executing and driving Data Quality programs.
  • Successful vendor management and oversight.
  • Driving AI-based projects, including AI for data classification, automation, and analytics.

Competencies:

  • Exceptional understanding of data administration and management functions (collection, analysis, distribution etc.)
  • Strong understanding and practical application of Data Governance frameworks, data privacy, and compliance regulations.
  • Strong data management expertise (i.e., understanding of data management scope and objectives).
  • Ability to analyse complex protocol designs, processes, vendor capabilities, data flows and data trends to design data management strategies allowing the efficient monitoring of activities to prevent and/or detect issues.
  • Ability to deal with a “business situation” promptly and efficiently (risks and opportunities) in a manner that is leading to a positive outcome.
  • Effective leadership and people management skills. Harness a working environment which encourages teamwork, energy, and creativity.
  • Excellent project management skills, including ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong communication, training, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Valid United Arab Emirates (UAE) Driving License.
