Data Center Engineer

Title: Coordinator Standard III

Duration: 5 Month - Long term

Location: Washington, DC 20433

Hybrid Onsite: 4 days per week from Day 1, with a full transition to 100% onsite anticipated soon.

Notes: The proposed candidate should have - worked on network infrastructure and telecom links delivery projects. Experience/Knowledge of data center services - Previous experience working in Data Centers client-facing working with servers, network cabling, and networking. Good knowledge of Service Now Experience with CAD drawing is a plus(like Microsoft Visio - to draw network diagrams). Excellent communication skills - verbal/written

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Advanced understanding of WAN and MAN technologies including dark fiber, MPLS, Metro-E and knowledge of SIP and H.323 protocols
  • Advanced knowledge of VoIP Telephony, voice carrier networks and TDM
  • Advanced understanding of all telecommunication network system functionality, efficiencies, and interfaces.
  • Advanced knowledge of various telecommunication concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Advanced knowledge of networking principles to include understanding of TCP/IP, IP Sub-netting, VLANs, Ethernet, DHCP, DNS, and QoS
  • Advanced knowledge with broad array of IT Infrastructure components and terminology, including hardware, Operating Systems, network, telecommunications, and database
  • Advanced knowledge of Network Computing Facility Room design, data/voice cabling, audio/video, and HVAC technology
  • Strong ability to assess requirements, initiate and complete task or project with little or no guidance
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to analyze information and draw accurate conclusions
  • Ability to apply problem-solving skills to evaluate and solve problems effectively
  • Proven ability to direct, coach and develop staff
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment and across organizational boundaries
  • Strong ability to facilitate technical telecommunication design discussions
  • Ability to build and sustain collaborative relationships with executive management and multiple constituencies
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team, and solve problems using creative solutions
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload, and remain flexible in an environment of constantly changing priorities
  • Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment.
