Data Center Technician

Overview
We are seeking a skilled Data Center Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and supporting our data centre operations, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of all systems. This role requires a strong understanding of computer networking, hardware, and telecommunications, along with hands-on experience in equipment repair and installation.

Duties

• Install, configure, and maintain network equipment including Cisco routers and Juniper switches.
• Conduct network installations and ensure proper cabling practices for Ethernet and VoIP systems.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on data centre equipment using hand tools.
• Troubleshoot issues related to computer hardware and networking, providing timely resolutions.
• Monitor CCTV systems to ensure security protocols are adhered to within the facility.
• Interpret schematics to assist in the installation and repair of telecommunications infrastructure.
• Collaborate with team members to implement upgrades and improvements to existing systems.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all work performed, including repairs and installations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in computer networking and data centre operations.
• Familiarity with CCTV systems, Avaya telecommunication solutions, and network protocols.
• Strong electrical experience with the ability to work safely around live circuits.
• Proficient in using hand tools for equipment repair and installation tasks.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract, Temporary

Pay: $23.85 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
