About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Transient Analysis Engineer with expertise in Six Sigma methodologies to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of thermal-fluid systems, transient simulations, reliability engineering, and process improvement techniques to optimize mission-critical data center operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct transient simulations and analysis of power, cooling, and airflow systems in data centers.
- Identify potential system instabilities, downtime risks, and bottlenecks using CFD/FEA tools and data-driven methods.
- Apply Six Sigma (DMAIC/DFSS) principles to reduce variability and enhance process efficiency.
- Collaborate with operations, facilities, and reliability engineering teams to drive continuous improvement projects.
- Develop and validate models to predict system response under dynamic load conditions.
- Create technical reports, dashboards, and executive presentations to communicate insights.
- Ensure compliance with ASHRAE, IEEE, and data center operational standards.
- Lead root-cause analysis for failures and provide corrective/preventive actions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in data center operations, reliability, or transient system modeling.
- Hands-on experience with simulation tools (ANSYS, COMSOL, Fluent, MATLAB, or similar).
- Certified Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on process optimization.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of power systems (UPS, gensets, switchgear) and cooling infrastructure.
- Experience in reliability engineering and failure mode effects analysis (FMEA).
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement frameworks.
- Data analytics and dashboarding skills (Python, SQL, Power BI, or Tableau).
