Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Data Centre Specialist – Cooling Systems to join our team!

In this role, you will oversee the design, installation, and commissioning of all cooling infrastructure for a fast-track hyperscale data centre project targeting Uptime Institute Tier III/IV certification. The facility includes high-density IT loads and requires robust, redundant cooling systems to maintain optimal environmental conditions and ensure continuous operation.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Provide technical leadership on cooling system design, installation, and commissioning.

• Ensure compliance with Uptime Institute Tier III/IV standards for environmental control and system resilience.

• Review and validate thermal load calculations, cooling capacity, and redundancy strategies.

• Coordinate with design consultants, contractors, and commissioning teams.

• Support Integrated Systems Testing (IST) and ensure cooling systems perform under simulated failure conditions.

• Monitor installation quality and ensure alignment with project specifications and performance criteria.

• Participate in risk assessments, technical reviews, and energy optimization initiatives.

• Support documentation, training, and handover to operations teams.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring

• 10–15 years in HVAC or cooling systems engineering, with significant experience in data centers or mission-critical environments.

• Expertise in chilled water systems, DX cooling, CRAH/CRAC units, and heat rejection technologies.

• Deep understanding of data center cooling strategies, Tier certification requirements, and energy efficiency standards.

• Strong analytical, coordination, and communication skills.

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services is required. Chartered Engineer status or equivalent is preferred.

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring

• Experience with hyperscale data center projects and Tier III/IV certified facilities.

• Familiarity with CFD modelling, thermal performance analysis, and BMS integration.

• Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-package delivery environments.
