We’re seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our Information Services team and help design the systems that power our data-driven decision-making.


THE POSITION:

Reporting to the Business Intelligence Manager, the Data Engineer is responsible for building, optimizing, and maintaining data pipelines that connect business operations, analytics, and strategic planning. You’ll work cross-functionally with analysts, developers, and leadership to ensure that data is accurate, accessible, and actionable—supporting both organizational performance and community impact.

This role combines deep technical expertise with collaboration and service excellence, supporting both internal users and external partners.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures to support advanced analytics and reporting.
  • Integrate and transform data from multiple systems and sources to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
  • Manage data aggregation into data warehouses and ensure optimal performance of databases and reporting environments.
  • Prepare and optimize data for prescriptive and predictive modeling.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability.
  • Support and maintain WESA (Web Enabled Statistical Analysis) and related business intelligence environments.
  • Troubleshoot and document data-related issues, performing root cause analysis and coordinating resolutions.
  • Support data security initiatives, ensuring compliance and access control standards are met.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to internal users and partners, ensuring communication and satisfaction throughout all projects.
  • Assist with technical onboarding, configuration, and helpdesk escalation as needed.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • 2+ years of experience in data engineering, database administration, or information systems.
  • Proficiency in Python, Java, or similar programming languages.
  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and database systems (SQL Server, Azure, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, architecture design, and ETL development.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver quality results in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong communication and customer service orientation.

PREFERRED QUALTIFICATIONS:

  • Microsoft Certified Azure Database Administrator or MCSA SQL 2014+ certification.
  • CompTIA A+ or Network+ certifications.
  • Familiarity with ITIL standards and helpdesk procedures.
  • Experience with Office 365 and Microsoft cloud environments
