Key Responsibilities
- Proficient in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and secure data pipelines and database systems.
- Work extensively on MySQL, including indexes, partitioned tables, data types, triggers, functions, and views.
- Manage and execute data migration projects using Stored Procedures, PL/SQL, and Database Migration Service (DMS).
- Optimize database performance and ensure system reliability and availability using cloud data services.
- Provide technical leadership to the data engineering team — plan, delegate, and monitor project deliverables.
- Collaborate with analytics, product, and business teams to support data-driven decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with data security, privacy, and governance standards.
Technical Skills
Core Skills
- 3+ years of experience in database development or data engineering.
- Strong proficiency in MySQL (indexes, partitioning, functions, triggers, views, and data types).
- Proven experience with data migration using Stored Procedures and PL/SQL.
- Deep understanding of database services and performance tuning.
- Exposure to open-source databases such as MongoDB.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
Good to Have
- Experience with Azure Data Factory or AWS Glue
- Familiarity with ETL tools and data warehouse design.
- Understanding of big data frameworks (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
- Experience with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
