Data Engineer

Responsible for designing and developing processes that translate data from various sources to destinations and presents findings to appropriate team members, clients, and vendors. Escalate concerns to management, determines best practices and provides suggestions on how to improve current practices. Serves as a member for the ETL group and supports management and other team members.

Job Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) pipelines.
• Communicate insights and recommendations to engineering and product teams
• Actively develop and maintain data pipelines
• Work on ad hoc and urgent requests in a timely manner
• Work with Operations team to understand the Data Update Process and identify items for Automation
• Understand and work on different formats in healthcare data i.e.: HL7, BCDA, CCDA
• Parsing and incorporation of the health care data received in different formats i.e.: HL7, CSV
• Use database models to debug and enhance queries.

Professional Qualities/Skills

Technical Skills:

• At least 2 years of experience in C# and SQL Server development
• EMR data migration experience would be a plus
• Analytical skills in an SQL environment
• Language proficiency with T-SQL, SQL query optimization
• Experience in data architecture environment
• Ability to maintain attendance to support required quality and quantity of work
• Knowledge of ETL concepts and source control
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
• Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective work relationships with coworkers, clients, members, providers, and customers
• Knowledge of Agile development methodologies is a plus
