Overview

Wize Solutions is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to take ownership of modern data platform design and delivery across Azure and Microsoft Fabric environments.

As a core member of our Data Engineering team, you will design, build, and scale enterprise data solutions that unify Azure SQL, Microsoft Fabric, Dataverse, and Data Lake architectures into a streamlined, analytics-ready ecosystem. You will work with leadership, architects, and business stakeholders to define data strategy, drive execution, and deliver high-impact outcomes.

This is a hands-on role focused on building, modernizing, and optimizing data platforms, not maintaining legacy systems.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts including dimensional modeling, ETL, and analytics design
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in data engineering, ETL development, or data architecture
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric including Lakehouse, Warehouse, Dataflows, and OneLake
  • Deep experience with Azure SQL and modern cloud-based data architectures
  • Experience working with Microsoft Dataverse including data integration and schema design
  • Strong experience building and optimizing Power BI datasets and semantic models
  • Advanced SQL skills including performance tuning, indexing, and complex query optimization
  • Experience designing scalable data pipelines and transformation frameworks
  • Experience modernizing legacy ETL solutions into cloud-native or Fabric-first architectures
  • Familiarity with data governance, lineage, and data quality practices
  • Experience with real-time or near real-time data processing is a plus
  • Exposure to ATO, FedRAMP, or other regulated environments is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and optimization of data platforms using Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL, Dataverse, and Data Lake
  • Architect and implement scalable data pipelines that support enterprise reporting and analytics
  • Build and maintain high-performance, analytics-ready datasets for Power BI and downstream systems
  • Streamline and modernize data flows to improve performance, reduce latency, and support near real-time insights
  • Establish and enforce data engineering standards, governance practices, and best practices
  • Translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable data solutions
  • Partner with stakeholders to define data strategy, reporting needs, and platform evolution
  • Implement performance tuning strategies including indexing, partitioning, and model optimization
  • Define and manage metadata, data lineage, and transformation logic across data pipelines
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex data issues across ingestion, transformation, and reporting layers
  • Mentor team members and provide technical leadership across data initiatives
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of data engineering processes, tooling, and platform capabilities

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $95,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
