Job Title: Data Engineer
Location: Texas
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our team, based in Texas. The candidate should have 5-10 years of experience with a strong background in data analysis and advanced technical skills. As a Data Engineer, you'll be responsible for developing, maintaining, testing, and evaluating big data solutions within our organization. You will be playing a pivotal role in managing our data architecture, ensuring our data solutions are aligned with business requirements and helping our company make better business decisions.
Responsibilities:
1. Design, construct, install, test, and maintain highly scalable data management systems.
2. Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
3. Work with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data, and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
4. Develop and implement data standards and common data elements when needed.
5. Implement new and existing data integration projects developed by technical teams.
6. Create custom software components and analytics applications.
7. Develop and implement ETL processes, reports, and queries in support of business analytics.
8. Monitor and recommend improvements to existing systems as needed.
9. Maintain and support data analytics platforms.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
2. 5-10 years of experience in a Data Engineer role.
3. Advanced working knowledge and experience working with AWS services including AWS Glue Quick Site, Iceberg, Redshift, Aurora.
4. Strong analytic skills related to working with structured and unstructured datasets.
5. Experience with big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.
6. Strong project management and organizational skills.
7. Strong experience in data modeling, ETL development, and Data warehousing, or similar skills.
8. Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python, Java, C++, Scala, etc.
9. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
As a senior developer, you will be expected to lead and mentor junior team members, ensuring the quality of their work and promoting a positive work environment. You should be able to perform detailed analysis of business problems and technical environments and use this in designing the solution.
