We are hiring our first Data Engineer—a critical role that will own our data infrastructure and analytics layer, helping leadership understand MRR, retention, feature adoption, AI costs, and overall profitability.

Role Overview

This is not just a backend data role—you will be the source of truth for business intelligence at MyThorneAI.

You will design and build our data warehouse, pipelines, and analytics systems from scratch, enabling both internal teams and customer-facing insights. Your work will directly influence strategic decisions, revenue growth, and operational efficiency.

What You’ll DoData Infrastructure & Pipelines

• Design and build scalable ETL / ELT pipelines
• Own and manage our data warehouse architecture
• Transform raw data into clean, usable datasets using dbt models
• Integrate data from product, billing, AI usage, and external systems

Analytics & Business Intelligence

• Define and track key metrics:
• MRR (Monthly Recurring Revenue)
• Net revenue retention
• Customer retention & churn
• Feature adoption
• AI usage & cost efficiency
• Build internal dashboards and reporting systems
• Enable leadership with real-time insights for decision-making

Dashboards & Visualization

• Develop customer-facing dashboards (where applicable)
• Build internal BI dashboards using tools like:
• Metabase
• Hex
• Looker (or similar)

Financial & Operational Insights

• Create systems to calculate profit/loss across the business
• Analyze cost drivers (especially AI-related costs)
• Support forecasting and growth modeling

Compliance & Reporting

• Generate compliance exports and structured reports
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and auditability

What We’re Looking ForCore Skills

• Strong experience with data warehousing (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, etc.)
• Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT pipeline development
• Proficiency with dbt
• Experience with SQL (advanced level required)
• Familiarity with BI tools (Metabase, Looker, Hex, etc.)

Bonus Experience

• Experience in SaaS metrics (MRR, retention, churn)
• Exposure to AI/ML cost tracking or usage analytics
• Startup experience (building from zero to one)
• Experience creating customer-facing analytics dashboards

• Leadership has clear visibility into revenue, retention, and costs
• We have a single source of truth for all business metrics
• Dashboards are actively used for daily decision-making
• We can confidently answer:
• “What is our true MRR?”
• “Where are we losing customers?”
• “Which features drive retention?”
• “What is our real profit margin after AI costs?”

Pay: Rs83,500.00 - Rs84,000.00 per month
