Data Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join the HR Analytics Engineering team. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building scalable, production-grade data solutions across the full data lifecycle — from ingestion and transformation to semantic modeling and visualization.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Databricks, Snowflake, Python, SQL, Microsoft Fabric, and Power BI , along with experience building enterprise-grade ETL/ELT pipelines in modern cloud environments.

This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior engineering leadership and gradually grow into solution design and stakeholder-facing responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain end-to-end data pipelines across ingestion, transformation, semantic modeling, and reporting layers
  • Develop scalable data solutions using Databricks (Delta Lake, Unity Catalog) and Snowflake
  • Implement data ingestion frameworks supporting batch, CDC, API, and streaming patterns
  • Create and optimize data models using medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold)
  • Build semantic layer assets in Microsoft Fabric / OneLake
  • Develop dashboards and reports using Power BI
  • Implement robust testing frameworks including unit testing, data quality checks, and reconciliation logic
  • Maintain CI/CD pipelines and support DevOps best practices
  • Monitor and support production data products, including KTLO activities and incident resolution
  • Collaborate with senior engineers, architects, and business stakeholders
  • Prepare documentation including runbooks, lineage, and source-to-target mappings

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 4+ years of hands-on Data Engineering experience
  • Strong expertise in:
  • Python
  • SQL
  • PySpark / Spark SQL
  • Databricks
  • Snowflake
  • Microsoft Fabric
  • Power BI
  • Experience with ETL/ELT pipeline development
  • Strong understanding of data modeling and lakehouse architecture
  • Experience with CI/CD, Git, and automated testing
  • Knowledge of batch, CDC, API, and streaming ingestion patterns
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with:
  • Iceberg Tables
  • Kafka / Spark Structured Streaming
  • Azure Event Hub
  • Delta Live Tables
  • AI/ML pipelines
  • Exposure to HR Analytics or HR systems like:
  • Workday
  • ServiceNow HR
  • Familiarity with Azure-native data services
  • Understanding of GDPR, CCPA, and employee data privacy standards
