About Platform Data Science Team

The Platform Data Science team works at the intersection of data science and engineering. Domain experts develop and advance platforms, including the data platforms, machine learning platform, other platforms for Forecasting, Experimentation, Anomaly Detection, Conversational AI, Underwriting of Risk, Portfolio Management, Fraud Detection & Prevention and many more. We also are the Data Science and Analytics partners for Product and provide Behavioural Science insights across Jupiter.

About the role

We’re looking for strong Data Engineers, who can manage and organize data using our own hand-crafted platforms. Our platforms are built by using technologies like Debezium, Kafka, S3, DeltaLake, Athena, Spark, Elastic Search, and others. If this sounds interesting we’d love to hear from you! This role will involve setting up efficient data systems for preparing data based on the given business requirements. The individual in this role will have responsibility to help maintain highest standards of data quality by reviewing and scheduling the ingestion and transformation jobs and ensure that data is readily available for scientists and analysts.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the data infrastructure
• Develop best practices for collecting and maintaining data
• Acquire data from both internal as well as external systems
• Prepare data for the given business requirements
• Identify ways to maintain high standards of data quality
• Work with various stakeholders regarding their data requirements

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• Computer Science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design
• Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, Scala including object-oriented design
• 3+ years of working experience as a data engineer
• 3 to 7 years professional experience in software development
• Good experience in databases, analytics, big data systems or business intelligence products: Data lake, data warehouse, ETL, Big data tech like: Hadoop, Apache Spark, Dremio, Apache Druid.
