About the Role
We are seeking a Data Engineer I to support and extend our production data systems. This role focuses on API integrations, cloud data platforms, and automation workflows that power internal operations and client-facing systems.
You will work closely with the Director of Data Engineering and directly support the Data Operations team, ensuring data systems are reliable, automated, and compliant. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role with clear ownership boundaries and strong growth potential.
Key ResponsibilitiesData Engineering & Automation
- Build and maintain automated data workflows
- Support end-to-end job execution across production systems
- Extend and maintain existing data pipelines and automation frameworks
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability
API & Integration Systems
- Develop and maintain API-based integrations
- Support internal and external system connectivity
- Maintain standardized API and integration patterns
- Monitor integration performance and resolve issues
Cloud Data Platforms
- Work within AWS-based data infrastructure
- Support structured data storage using S3 and Aurora
- Maintain schemas and data consistency across systems
- Contribute to scalable, production-ready solutions
Security & Compliance
- Follow SOC 2-compliant data handling practices
- Support secure credential usage and access controls
- Adhere to internal security and compliance standards
Operational Support
- Directly support the Data Operations team with reliable data systems
- Monitor automated jobs and workflows
- Troubleshoot production issues and data discrepancies
- Collaborate cross-functionally to maintain system stability
Systems & Technologies
Experience or familiarity with:
- Python
- REST APIs
- AWS (S3, RDS/Aurora)
- Linux environments
- Git / GitHub
- Automated data pipelines
- Compliance-aware systems
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Software Engineering
- Strong Python development skills
- Experience working with APIs and automated systems
- Hands-on experience in cloud environments
- Comfortable working in Linux-based systems
- Strong attention to detail and production reliability
Nice-to-Have
- Experience in SOC 2 or regulated environments
- Familiarity with ETL or batch processing
- Exposure to CRM or operational data systems
- Experience supporting live production workflows
Reporting & Collaboration
- Reports to the Director of Data Engineering
- Directly supports the Data Operations team
- Works closely with Engineering and Operations leadership
Pay: From $80,000.00 per year
