We bring the strength of more than 100 years of experience and renowned engineering expertise to meet the needs of today’s mission and stay ahead of tomorrow’s threat. Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world.

At Raytheon Vision Systems, we manufacture advanced infrared detectors and semiconductor materials that power mission-critical sensing technologies for defense and aerospace applications. Our production environment is highly specialized, involving cleanroom operations, precision crystal growth, and rigorous metrology to ensure the highest standards of quality and performance.

As a Data Engineer Integration & Automation, you’ll play a pivotal role in modernizing the digital backbone of our manufacturing operations. You’ll work hands-on in a fast-paced, cleanroom-based production setting where attention to detail, safety, and collaboration are essential. Your work will support the fabrication and testing of infrared sensors by improving how data is collected, processed, and used—from automating MATLAB tools and report generation to migrating legacy systems and connecting equipment to our internal network.

Success in this role requires not only strong technical skills in software and data systems, but also the ability to work closely with engineers, technicians, and production staff in a controlled environment. You’ll be expected to understand the urgency of production schedules, communicate clearly across disciplines, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts that enhance yield, reliability, and throughput.

What You Will Do

  • Apply statistical and mathematical methods to quantify outcomes, analyze process data and improve yield.
  • Migrate a FileMaker-based data collection system to a SQL Server-based architecture.
  • Automate MATLAB GUI workflows to increase data review throughput.
  • Develop tools to automate generation of reports using numeric, image, and text-based data.
  • Upgrade and integrate existing production tooling with internal network infrastructure.
  • Investigate and improve data generation practices to ensure consistency, validity, and relevance.
  • Develop a viable path to an automated, machine learning environment
  • Collaborate with scientists and engineers to understand production workflows and data needs.
  • Work in controlled areas, cleanrooms, laboratories etc.
  • Develop fundamental understanding of crystal growth and epitaxial processes

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Computer Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics or a (STEM) degree and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience in Data Analytics, system Integration, software development and/or Automation.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • SQL Server, FileMaker, and database migration strategies.
  • Scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash/Shell, PowerShell).
  • Report generation tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB, Excel macros).
  • Networking protocols and hardware/software integration.
  • Data validation and quality assurance methodologies.
  • Experience in production environment and multi-disciplinary engineering environment.
  • A motivated and self-starting individual who interacts well in a team environment that includes both company colleagues and customers.

What We Offer

  • Our values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world. At RTX we value: Trust, Respect, Accountability, Collaboration, and Innovation.
