We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design, manage, and optimize large-scale customer data systems that power our email and SMS marketing programs. This role is critical to ensuring data accuracy, scalability, compliance, and performance across customer communication platforms. You will partner closely with marketing, analytics, and engineering teams to support segmentation, personalization, and campaign execution at scale.
Key Responsibilities:- Design, build, and maintain large, high-volume databases supporting email and SMS marketing initiatives
- Manage customer data pipelines that ingest, transform, and distribute data from multiple sources (CRM, web, apps, e-commerce, third-party platforms)
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and availability for campaign targeting, segmentation, and personalization
- Support integration with email service providers (ESPs) and SMS platforms (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, CustomerIO, Braze, Twilio, Adobe, Iterable, or similar)
- Implement and maintain data governance, privacy, and compliance standards (CAN-SPAM, TCPA, GDPR, CCPA)
- Optimize database performance, scalability, and query efficiency for large marketing datasets
- Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes and automation workflows
- Collaborate with marketing operations, analytics, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into data solutions
- Monitor data quality, troubleshoot issues, and resolve discrepancies affecting campaigns
- Document data models, pipelines, and operational processes
- Support audience insights, reporting, and experimentation through reliable data access
Required Qualifications:- 3+ years of experience in data engineering, database engineering, or marketing technology roles
- Strong experience managing large-scale customer or marketing databases
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases
- Hands-on experience with data pipelines, ETL/ELT frameworks, and workflow orchestration tools
- Experience supporting email and SMS marketing platforms or customer engagement systems
- Strong understanding of data privacy, consent management, and messaging compliance regulations
- Experience working in cloud-based data environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
- Ability to work cross-functionally with marketing, analytics, and technical teams
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and data quality management skills
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience with customer data platforms (CDPs) or identity resolution systems
- Familiarity with real-time or event-driven data processing
- Experience with Python, Scala, or similar languages for data processing
- Knowledge of marketing analytics, attribution, and campaign measurement
- Experience supporting high-volume messaging programs (millions of sends per day)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)

The base salary range for this full-time position is $105,000-$115,000. Our salary ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The Company offers competitive compensation along with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision benefits, vacation, sick leave, 401(k), and more depending on location.
