An exciting career awaits you
At MPC, we’re committed to being a great place to work – one that welcomes new ideas, encourages diverse perspectives, develops our people, and fosters a collaborative team environment.
Our digital team at MPC is on a mission to create trusted and reusable data products that improve connectivity for our integrated value chains, enable fast and confident decision making, and support our business transformation. We’ve made considerable progress with data products, but our ability to scale is capped due to lagging foundational and embedded data governance structures that formalize data ownership responsibilities. We need an experienced leader to accelerate data governance capability that enables clear data decision rights and escalation paths, simplifies and enables the responsibility for data quality, and improves data stewardship practices at enterprise scale. Success in this role will enable our business transformation by paving the road to true data-driven decision making, at the speed we need, and with quality and confidence the business demands.
In this role, you will collaborate with our digital team, business data domain owners, and business data stewards to ensure that data governance is enabling our objectives. Within our Analytics & Innovation organization, you will lead the team that builds the data governance framework, curates the data stewardship user experience of the future, and governs our enterprise data platform. We are focused on governance platform workflows, promoting discoverable and governed use of data products through our data catalog, solving master and reference data challenges, improving data quality of our data products, and ensuring the safe and compliant use of enterprise data within our data platform.
This role is ideal for a leader who brings strong stakeholder collaboration skills and a proven track record of building data governance from the ground up. Data governance needs to be embedded, practical, and explainable to the enterprise. You will serve as a bridge between business partners, digital delivery teams, and our data governance team to make this a reality.
