The Data Governance Officer will be responsible for establishing, enforcing, and monitoring data governance practices across the enterprise. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, drives data quality initiatives, and promotes a culture of responsible data stewardship. The officer will collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to design and implement governance frameworks, policies, and tools that safeguard enterprise data assets.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of data governance maturity and develop actionable improvement roadmaps.
  • Create, document, and enforce governance standards (data quality, definitions, privacy, retention, security).
  • Lead initiatives such as Business Glossary rollout, Data Quality KPIs, Reference Data Management, and data lineage documentation using tools like Azure, Microsoft Purview, SQL.
  • Collaborate with business owners and custodians to ensure secure, consistent access to data.
  • Implement data quality assessments, establish KPIs, and monitor ongoing performance.
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR, PDPL, and other data protection regulations; manage audits and incident responses.
  • Align governance controls with business and regulatory requirements.


Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Information Systems; BA in Computer Information Systems.
  • Professional training in Data Governance & Data Management.
  • 7–10 years of experience, preferably in Banking and Compliance.

Certifications (Preferred)

  • CDMP, CIPP, DGSP, CISA, CIP.
