The Opportunity:

Definian is hiring an experience Data Migration Developer to join our growing offshore consulting team in India. In this role, you will work directly with clients to understand their business needs, solidify requirements, and become an expert with respect to their data. You will apply innovation, intelligence, and problem-solving skills to build custom solutions to their specific needs and guide them through large-scale technology transformations. You will benefit from mentorship and coaching from our industry experts.

The ideal candidate for this role will be someone who enjoys working with data and using technology to address a never-ending stream of challenges on behalf of clients who have huge needs but lack the ability, experience, time, and/or tools to do it themselves.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Taking direct ownership of mission critical data requirements in a fast paced, collaborative work environment
  • Delivering technology solutions to clients across industries, such as Manufacturing & Distribution, Education & Government, Consumer & Industrial Products, and Life Sciences & Healthcare
  • Working with clients to understand their current data landscape and advising on the strategy to align with their future-state data landscape
  • Designing and developing custom solutions for clients using a variety of software and programming tools, including Definian’s proprietary software product (Applaud), SQL, PowerShell, Excel, and VBA
  • Using quantitative methods to derive actionable insights, patterns, and outcomes from data
  • Learning leading enterprise software products such as Oracle, SAP, and Workday
  • Becoming a subject matter expert on our business products, processes and operations, and remaining up-to-date on industry news

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • At least one 6 years of experience working directly with structured data (analyzing, organizing, reporting, summarizing, etc)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Proficient in designing and executing complex SQL queries, data cleansing techniques, data
    quality improvement, and planning migration activities.
  • Designing and developing and maintaining custom solutions using multiple programming
    tools including SQL, Excel, VBA, PowerShell.
  • Participate in requirement gathering sessions, planning tasks and estimated delivery dates
    (project planning), and escalation management.
  • Exposed to any of ERP systems such as Oracle, Workday, and SAP.
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and business
    objectives (As-Is and To-Be).
  • Perform in-depth data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities.
  • Provide actionable insights and data-driven recommendations to support business
    decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance policies and procedures.
  • Document data analysis methodologies, processes, and outcomes for reference and
    knowledge sharing.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Data Engineers and Business Analysts,
    to address data-related challenges and support data-driven initiatives
  • Strong analytical mindset and the ability to derive actionable insights from data.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex
    information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong experience with a programming or scripting language
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Excel including formulas, pivot tables, and VBA
